Showering Little Lemon

On Saturday I threw a shower for my brother, Brett, and sister-in-law, Crystal,
who are expecting a sweet little one in February.

The soon-to-be parents standing in front of the diaper wreath.

Crystal is just about the cutest pregnant person I have ever met.
She is 5 feet {on a good day} and has the sweetest little basketball belly.
As a fellow petite, it is inspiring to see her carry this baby so well.

Brett and Crystal are keeping the baby's name a secret until his arrival
so the family has generously given him many nicknames.
One that has stuck is "little lemon"
therefore, the shower was lemon-themed.

This would be a picture of Brett and me
dressed up as our father for Halloween!
Dad used to have a fro and killer glasses.

Mom helped me with all the decorations.
We bought yellow balloons, lemons, and bouquets of fresh flowers the day of the shower.
I made the diaper wreath ahead of time
and she brought the baby bottles filled with lemon candies.

My dad helped with the food.
He used to own a restaurant called Jeff's Gastronomy in downtown Louisville.
I knew he was the only {and best} option for catering the shower.
Staying true to form, he brought the goods
and really outdid himself!

To represent Brett & Crystal, he focused on four themes:

Louisville
(Brett's hometown)

-Fried Chicken
-Benedictine

Chicago
(Crystal's hometown & their current residence)

-Mini hot dogs
-Mini deep dish pizzas

Jewish
(Brett's heritage)

-Lox
-Reuben knishes
-Brisket sandwiches

Irish
(Crystal's heritage)

-Bangers & Mash

After dinner, everyone enjoyed the lovely lemon desserts
made by the very generous Kenna.

Kenna and her husband, Michael, just welcomed their sweet daughter Adelaide.
I was filled to the brim with joy to meet this sweetums.

Precious girl.

The whole evening was really quite lovely
filled with lots of love for sweet little lemon.

I am so happy for Brett & Crystal
and I can not wait to meet my nephew in a few months!!

Great job on the shower! It looked like lots of fun and I'm sure Brett and Crystal were so appreciative.
