My Humanities students just finished a unit on Modernism and Post-Modernism.
Last year I was so impressed with the work the students produced
I couldn't wait to introduce the project this year.
The class was divided into ten groups.
Each group was assigned to research one of the following art movements:
Impressionism
Post-Impressionism
Cubism
Surrealism
Abstract Expressionism
Dada
Pop-Art
Hard-Edge Painting
Conceptualism
Found-Object Sculpture
Then they gave a 20-minute presentation on their art movement.
After the research and presentations,
each group created an artwork in the style of their art movement.
