Poetry.

To love is not to possess,
To own or imprison,
Nor to lose one’s self in another.
Love is to join and separate,
To walk alone and together,
To find a laughing freedom
That lonely isolation does not permit.
It is finally to be able
To be who we really are
No longer clinging in childish dependency
Nor docilely living separate lives in silence,
It is to be perfectly one’s self
And perfectly joined in permanent commitment
To another–and to one’s inner self.
Love only endures when it moves like waves,
Receding and returning gently or passionately,
Or moving lovingly like the tide
In the moon’s own predictable harmony,
Because finally, despite a child’s scars
Or an adult’s deepest wounds,
They are openly free to be
Who they really are–and always secretly were,
In the very core of their being
Where true and lasting love can alone abide.

True Love

You know it is LOVE when
you find yourself dressed and ready to go at midnight
for a Harry Potter movie
because your husband is fanatic.

We may or may not have plans to also see it Friday night with friends.

Love My Hubs!

Husband comes home tonight!
He out-did himself by sending flowers while he was away.

They are so beautiful!

Seriously, love this man.

Now, if only there was some way to get out of class tomorrow.

While I wait for him to come home,
I am heading to Headliners
to see Ra Ra Riot!

Puppy Love.

Meet Lilah,
aka cutest. thing. ever.

One of our good friends just got her
and I instantly fell in love.

Al and I have talked about dogs for our future
but obviously don't have the room, money, or time for one now.

Assuming we had a house with a big yard,
we both would want a German Shepherd mix.

In this fantasy world I am indulging myself in for the moment
we would definitely adopt from the pound.
So, our pup would most likely look like one of these treasures,
rather than a pure bred German Shepherd:

I think I would name him Bear, or maybe Sherman.
I like Wilson and Winston too.

Who knows if it would ever happen,
we would have to have a lot of room for that little guy,
but it sure is fun to dream.
