Sculpture

So, I am hoping to teach Sculpture next year.
Right now we do not have a 3-D course and
it will all depend on how many students sign up to take it next year.

I am anxious to have another art class to teach
and have been brainstorming
since the possibility was approved
by the SBDM council earlier this year.

This is just one of many ideas
... but ...
I was thinking of doing
GUM SCULPTURES!

I know the kids will think it is gross at first
but they will just have to get over it.
(I think secretly they will LOVE it.)

Here are some lovely examples of fabulous gum art:

These aren't really sculptures
but they are definitely cool
and are all made of gum!
I would certainly show these to the kids.

What are your thoughts?
I am dying to know if you think this will work.

I wanna play with gum! Will your students get to chew it first? How fun! What a creative idea that I'm sure your kids will love. Can't wait to see the finished products :)

ok- cool idea. but i probably wouldn't show my students that top right picture- looks a little suspicious/questionable.....or maybe that's just how i see it?

I think that is very cool! You are so creative and seem to be in your element. I used to do aluminum foil sculptures in my Y art classes and I was amazed with they came up with everytime.
