Acquaintances, strangers, & co-workers
just can't seem to help themselves
when it comes to commenting on my protruding tummy.
For the most part,
I don't mind the attention one bit.
It's kind of nice having everyone smile at me
and check up on how I am feeling.
However, I have found myself cringing
every time a person says something along the lines of...
"Oh, well, look at that pooch."
or
"You are really starting to get a pooch."
Can we please just talk about this?
A pooch makes me think of unpleasant things ...
like a large swollen pocket of pus.
{Gross! I know! That's what I am saying!!}
But a bump makes me think of a
small and rounded raised area {like a speed bump}.
Much more pleasant imagery if you ask me.
Am I alone in this?
