Trend to Try: Silk Scarf (Again)

Still inspired by my Mimi's silk scarves (but disappointed with them as hair accessories),

I dressed up this Old Navy cotton dress with one of her larger ones.

Trend to Try: Silk Scarf Headband

I saw the following two images on Pinterest recently,

and thought to myself…. Oooo, I lug-huv that!! 

I have a few of my Mimi's silk scarves that I absolutely adore

but haven't really known how to incorporate them into my wardrobe.

While my attempt is much more casual than my inspiration, 

here is my take on the silk scarf headband:

^^^ I love this look but the problem is the silk ^^^

is super slippery and the whole scarf kept slipping off my head after an hour or so.

(Too Many) Trends to Try

Chambray. Neon. Varsity Jacket. Grey Jeans. Toboggan.

Definitely too many trends at once.

But that is not stopping me from posting! 

I feel like if I don't just bite the bullet on these outfit posts,

I will never post one again. 

So, here is my absolute clusterf^*$ of an outfit:

Definitely my best outfit EVER!

I would recommend NOT replicating this one!!

Trend to Try: Layered Fair Isle

Okay, truth be told, these outfit posts are hard!! 

They are so damn awkward,

 I feel like instead of titling these posts "trend to try" 

they would more accurately be titled as "awkward" posts.

But, when your husband tells you, "You look cute!"

 in the morning before you walk out the door,

you know you gotsta capture that outfit on the blog!

Trend to Try: Leopard + White

^^^ I saw this picture on Pinterest ^^^

and was immediately drawn to the simplicity of an all white outfit with a pop of leopard.

Here is my take:

Trend to Try: Layered Turtlenecks

It is no secret that this winter has been brutally cold.

And if you have ever met my Mimi,

then you know the women in my family

already run on the chilly side.
We never leave home without a sweater,
even if its 100* outside with 100% humidity.
It's something we bond over.

So, this winter has quite literally left me shivering to the bone.

I mean, yesterday, I taught in my winter coat.
And I was wearing a tank top, turtleneck, and jacket underneath!
AND, I was STILL cold!
It's just awful.

So, when I saw this picture on Pinterest,

I thought to myself,
Now that is a trend I can try!

DOUBLE TURTLENECKS!!!!!!!
YES, PLEASE!!!!!!

Despite all the Spring lines being released in stores recently,
you will find me shivering right by and dutifully rockin' the double turtleneck
through the rest of this season.
