Three.

It's been three years since I said "I do" to this man,
and what a three years it has been.
We've been up, we've been down,
we've been thrown all around.
But at the end of the day,
it is his love that makes me feel whole.
It is his smile that warms my heart.
It is his sarcasm that makes me laugh.
It is his hand I most like to hold.
It is his voice that encourages me the most.
It is by his side that I stand.

I had the fortunate pleasure of stumbling upon
our wedding officiant's ceremony notes the other day.
It was an inspiring and humbling read.

These words I wrote to Alex before we were married
with the intention of him hearing them for the first time on our wedding day:

Alex, my commitment to you is infinite.
There is nothing that could separate my love and devotion to you.
I will always remain fully committed to our marriage and friendship.
My love for you is unconditional and, therefore, so is my commitment.
You are the one God has given to me as my husband and
I will always cherish you as such a gift.

Without an ounce of doubt,
I can truly say those words are more true today
than they ever were when I first wrote them.

Happy anniversary, babe!
You are my one true love.
